Today when I was helping an old granny get off the bus at the retirement village, it got me thinking. School these days. The curry kids running off to Dr Abdul Singh's private tutoring, the asias putting their nerd on at CS and Dr Du's Education (SUCCESS GUARANTEED!). We're all caught up in the present, but hey! Someday we'll all be old and wrinkly with shingles, arthritis, osteoporosis... and the girl who helped you get off the bus when you were trying to inch your legs ever so slowly and usnteadily onto the next step just might make your day. (:
I know telling people to CHILLAX MAN! probably won't work. Because we're Baulko kids and, face it or not, most of us are ambitious and want to achieve higher and higher goals. Just cause it's year 11 doesn't mean we can (or do) slack off because it doesn't count, which seems to be the counter-argument or reassurance whenever people start complaining about their copiously overwhelming workload.
We try, we study, we stress. Because if we don't, we'll get left behind. It might be called conformism, but I'd like to believe that we do it because we want to be successful, get the highest marks, challenge ourselves.
So, purpose of this post, don't be too overwhelmed about year 11 - we live. And help old grannies =D
